We were using another TP-Link wireless router and liked the features it had except we needed more power (it was time to upgrade) to cover our home’s area and this TP-Link AX6600 WiFi 6 Gaming Router (Archer GX90) did the trick.
Easy setup and had it up and running quickly. If your not sure about how to set it up there’s video’s on YT so check them out. I’d buy it again!

Perfect for loads of smart devices so far, very little dropouts. Dozen echoes that’s all linked together to several dozen smart plugs and light bulbs this does the job. A dozen more smart cameras I haven’t had an issue. The other router I had barely handled all of them; however, this one is a beast. I know there’s more powerful newer ones but this one is good enough so far for me and some room for more smart devices down the road. Looks like a dead robot spider but is does the job.

I hate writing bad reviews, and I give this 3 stars only because Amazon made it so easy to return, but this really deserves a 1 or 2-star review. I’m disappointed in TP-Link. I didn’t expect that such an expensive router with 6 antennas would degrade Wifi speeds to under 10 Mbps down when over 300 Mbps was provided by the ISP’s modem — verified a number of times with a direct connection to the modem. I tried for almost a full month to adjust the settings in the WiFi area until the last few days of the return policy approached. I tried to get ahold of tech support, but I couldn’t reach even chat support. I resorted to reading posts on what to do, many of which pointed to disabling 802.11 ax to get better performance from devices that don’t support that, but there was no setting for just 801.11 n alone, just the slowest speed or ax. There are also two places to adjust wifi settings, both in an area called WiFi but the one that seemed to matter the most was under Parental Controls, which isn’t very intuitive. The parental controls is actually why I purchased this unit, which was to monitor my 11-year-old’s devices, and it’s generally pretty good, but the UI is not as user-friendly as, for example, the Ubiquity UI. Maybe that’s an unfair comparison but it was what I was hoping for. The Wifi speeds were so bad everyone in the house was complaining and I ended up digging up an old Nighthawk router which was probably 8+ years old which could handle Wifi speeds of over 200 Mbps regularly. Not the 350 Mbps from the modem, but a lot better than 5-10, which several times stopped us from watching a movie and even made my wife mad when she tried to play a game online. At one point I thought I had the problem solved, by installing the latest firmware patch, and at first, it did test at almost the full modem speed over Wifi, but within a few hours the wifi speeds dropped to 6 Mbps. I finally just gave up trying to troubleshoot this router. Sorry for the bummer review.
