We use the ES-200 at work so I thought for myself I’d get the wifi capable ES-300W. The three ES-200s we use at work each scan probably 100 or so pages a day for a busy front office, and I think we’ve only needed to replace the separator pad once or twice in the 5ish years we’ve had them. I haven’t tried the wifi on this one but I read on a review it’s only compatible with 2.4 ghz similar to Ring doorbell (at least my version from a few years ago). Someone explained to me once it has to do with the data download and you actually get better information on the slower speed, but I digress.
What was driving me a little OCD about this scanner initially was how pages weren’t scanning perfectly aligned. I didn’t notice that on the ES-200 we use for work, but when I went back and checked files I saw it does do that. I searched everywhere on the problem, I hated getting crooked pages for my own personal use. But then I saw in the scan page of the program a drop down to choose from either Paper Skew or Content Skew. If you don’t want crooked pages, ALWAYS use Content Skew. That would have saved me an hour or so of frustration! After I saw that each page came out perfect. It even straightened out my pages that were actually copied crooked. I would give this a 4.5 because
I felt like that skew thing could have been better handled, and Content Skew should be default, but since I can’t give that rating I bumped it to a 5 because I know it’s worth more than a 4. Also like the ES-200 afaik it only lets you title a file AFTER it’s been saved (why create that extra step??). On the plus side it’s fast, can do multiple pages (if the pages are on thicker paper, it has more trouble grabbing those individually vs. as a group), and is easily portable (I bought the matching travel case as well to keep it clean and safe from cats 🐈). This is perfect for a transition into a more paperless world and decluttering my work space to hopefully declutter my mind with it!

A few years ago I was on the hunt to purchase a scanner and looked at lots of reviews. After much research I decided to go with this Epson scanner. I have used this scanner for a few years now and this scanner does the job. As a mobile notary I need to scan docs on the go and this really has helped me out alot. Also, the price for this scanner is very good. It’s reliable and I like the fact its wi fi accessible. So, if you are looking for a good reliable portable on the go scanner. This may be the one for you.

Likes: The product is as advertised! Once it’s running (properly) its fast and does what it was made to do.
Dislikes: The product was lacking precise setup instructions. It made a single reference to AP mode and then nothing else.
[PAIRING Instructions]
power up the device, make sure its fully charged BEFORE pairing. when fully charged set the mode switch to the MIDDLE position. The switch can very easily slide past this setting, so use care.
once fully powered, activate the AP mode of the device, turn it over and look at the connection info label. Enter that data PRECISELY in the connection window, once you are set, change to wireless mode and use the WPS link buttons on your modem/router and the device. the two lights will blink for up to 30 seconds. THIS IS NORMAL.
After that you should be fine. You have to use the same process on your cellphone if pairing to that item. You need the Epson Print mobile app to control the ES-300W. The app has built-in profiles for various models. You will need to scroll down a short way to find the ES-300W.
I suggest a 1TB usb flash drive (sold here on Amazon) with the 3-way interface for cellphone and computer. That way you can scan directly to the flash drive.
That process works well for an Android phone. I am not certain how well it will work with an iPhone. It did work on my iPad 11 which uses iOS. So the process should be similar to MacOS.
I also highly recommend the suggested carrying case! It stores everything nice and snug! Just make sure you fit the ES-300W in the case first, THEN fit the dividing strap (velcro) so that it holds the ES-300W “snuggly” without being tight. Then you can fit in the cables and charger.
As stated the Aproca carry case ONLY fits the ES-200 and ES-300/W/R models. The only difference between the ES-300W and the 300WR is that the 300WR comes with (is designed for) accounting/finance software.
So be certain you KNOW “which” version you need!
